Lyrebird Preschool

A Natural Playspace was designed and created at Lyrebird Preschool.

​

The main yard includes meandering paths, showcasing beautiful sandstone boulders and tree logs surrounded by native plants . An arbour invites the children to discover a hand water pump, bridge and dry creek bed. There are ample opportunities for outdoor education with a conversation circle positioned inside a sand pit, next to a deck with a timber amphitheatre. A dedicated messy play area was constructed with rocks, pebbles, mud and mulch. Children can increase their gross motor skills, problem solving skills and coordination with the custom made climbing wall with timber log steps.

Stage 2 of this project involved constructing a massive pergola, covering a huge sandpit, surrounded by logs and sandstone. In the middle of the sandpit is a timber fort that is designed for children to play on and under. Raised veggie gardens, garden beds and hedging, complete this beautiful space.
